Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament has a New Show

Here Ye! Here Ye!

There is a New Show....

My family and I went back in time entering the Medieval Times castle for the premiere of the new show in Buena Park, CA. The new show has been almost 2 years in the making with exciting events including falconry, horsemanship, sword fights and live jousting. The IV ACT Show had us almost too excited to eat, we didn't want to miss a thing. And speaking of eating the food is great and have you heard there are no utensils? That's right this dinner is hands on, literally. This is a HUGE hit with the kids (and husbands)!

ACT I

The show opens with the mystical bond between man and horse.

Liberty Horse

ACT II

We greet the Knights, champions of the six provinces. The King arrives to make a toast and so begins the Dinner and Tournament.

Ceremony fit for a King

Only one shall be named "Champion to the King"

The six Knights of the Realm

We sat in the blue section and cheered for the strength and the courage of our Knight from the East.

ACT III

Battle begins with the thunder of hooves and the crash of lance and shield.

A Stranger Arrives

Jousting in the Great Hall

ACT IV

The final battle begins. Good vs. Evil It is a battle to the death.

The realm has a new Champion!

After the Show...

Keep your cameras out. You can meet and greet the Knights, which is fun for the kids and Moms (swoon).

Yep, that's my sister Jessica and I giggling like we're 12.

This summer at SeaWorld, along with Shamu's debut of
One Ocean comes another very special story.

“Turtle: The Incredible Journey.”

The film is directed by National Geographic Explorer’s Nick Stringer and narrated by Academy Award nominee Miranda Richardson. Stringer’s documentary team follows the loggerhead turtle on an adventure of more than 9,000 miles guided only by instinct. The crew spent two years following loggerhead turtles on their trips across the ocean, and have captured on film the remarkable life cycle of a beautiful creature that struggles to survive in an increasingly unforgiving environment.

The film does what our parks have been doing for more than five decades: inspire, enrich and entertain. Helping bring this film and its powerful message of the fragility and beauty of our oceans to the public is what SeaWorld is and what we have always been about.

The film will be released to theaters in both standard theatrical formats as well as 3D in selected locations starting June 24. This is the the same week as the opening of SeaWorld San Diego’s Turtle Reef, a new attraction that showcases this extraordinary species in a 300,000-gallon aquarium with a massive underwater viewing gallery.

Last time my family and I were at SeaWorld, we were so thankful to be treated to a SeaWorld private tour which included feeding turtles (from a distance) it was really neat to learn about them.

SeaWorld has a brand new show called One Ocean. It sounds to me like it's got an educational/documentary feel to it. One Ocean has already opened at SeaWorld in Florida, it is opening in California this month and coming in June to Texas.

The program provides a special opportunity for families to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing!

It's Here...... I got the press release and couldn't wait to share the news. As you know I'm a huge fan of Disneyland Resort. There's no place in the world like Disney for the Holidays and from September to January I can't stay away!!! Halloween Time is no exception.
The last few weeks I have been sharing my last few years of Mickey's Trick or Treat Party in the hopes of getting you all in the mood. Designed to educate families of all ages on ecology and the environment. They offer 9 programs for kids, adults, and families, and 16 different youth programs. My 10year old has made a list of the ones he wants to try.

Staying close to home and getting a real "vacation" experience out of a day trip or a easy weekend is very appealing to me, and my budget. Spending a day snorkeling and learning with the young men and women that make up the Ambassador staff at the hotel (hi Casey) is an outstanding addition to summer vacation.

However staying the hotel, I'm sure would be a slice of heaven and the hotel staff treats you as if you live there. *I hope to weekend there with my family in August and will surely post more pictures and review the programs in greater detail.

Once upon a time there was a mom blogger in search of jeans that fit, day after day she bravely ventured into dressing rooms... these jeans are too short, these jeans are too tight, never could she find the jeans that were just right. She searched every mall in all the land.

One day a little birdie named twitter delivered an invitation to a friend's home (thanks Momfluential) for a Miraclebody Jeans party. She had never heard of the new Miraclebody Jeans. Was this an invitation to the ball? Was it finally time to meet her Denim Godmother?

She walked in the room to see the jeans hanging, waiting just for her... as she took them off the hanger something felt different. There was a softness and stretch to them she had known before in her favorite leggings. Could it be? A smile swept over her face, first one leg then the next, she effortlessly slid them on. The jeans fit like a glass slipper made just for her. She looked into the mirror mirror on the wall. She was the fairest of them all, she looked 10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds. Once she had found the jeans made just for her, she lived stylish and comfortably ever after.

This is my story. I am the queen of jeans, I wear them everyday but I had yet to find the perfect fitting jean. 10 years ago I became a mom, in the nine months I was pregnant the style of jeans changed to low-cut. Along with my son, a plumber's crack and muffin top were also born. I was never able to find the right fitting jeans until now.... Miraclebody has made a new jean unlike any other and found a way to fit all shapes and sizes!! And did I mention they are made in the USA?! These jeans should be called "The New Mom Jeans!" "Project Natal" Xbox 360: It's All Fun And Games

I've heard rumors about "Project Natal" for Xbox 360 (pronounced Nay-tall), no controllers, no wires, just your body and your avatar..... really? Yes, Really!

My family and I were invited to a "sneak peek party" to play their first version of "Project Natal". Let's start with the name. In case you haven't heard of this from your kids yet- you will soon enough it'll be the new hot item to have and on every holiday wish list. Project Natal sounds a little like a science experiment crossed with a blockbuster spy movie starring Matt Damon. And that alone is intriguing to me. So hubby, neenie (g'ma), 10yr. old gamer, and I were off on our first "Project Natal" experience. We were greeted by the really friendly Project Natal Team of gals and given (to keep) a new handy dandy FlipCam to record ourselves while playing. We did not disappoint, silly we were!

It looks like we're going the hokey pokey I know, but by the looks on our faces you can see how much fun we were having. We were playing the only game they were sharing with us for now, Dodge Ball. More games will be released and another get together for playing is coming soon, I hope! My family had 3 generations at the party, this is fun for Grandparents, Parents, and of course kids~ It is so nice to find activities for kids to be interacting with adults that is fun for everyone and best of all it keeps you active!!!

Yes, it's true.... Ju Ju Be makes the best diaper bag out there but I quickly found out (after winning one, love door prizes!) they make the best BAGS period, even if your not carrying diapers. I admit I quickly thought of my sister with a two year old to give my newly acquired Ju Ju Be bag to. But when I got it home and really got a good look at it I realized this is the perfect companion BAG to any family with kids (mine is 9). This BAG will hold so much the features are many. Entertaining Your Kids - Summer Series - The Greatest Show On Earth Part II

When asked if my family would like to go to the Circus, we adjusted our clown noses and "stepped right up". As I shared before (read more) I haven't been to a Ringling Brothers Circus since I was nine, now that Nick is nine the timimng couldn't be more perfect. Our day started early as we watched the elephants eat breakfast and have a bath a "Pachyderm Scrub Down", if you will. We met and chated with Libby Morris, senior animal specialist. Libby, mother of 2, spends so much time with her "other kids, the elephants" they have become a part of her family. Thanks Libby for spending time with us!!! And thanks Jennifer for giving my son memories he can share with his children. This was a very special day!

we jumped at the chance! Our last visit to Sea World was a once in a lifetime memory maker.... (read about it here)

We had never been to Sea World after dark. We usually get there early and head out at sunset, with wet clothes. The boys love the water rides there. This trip we planned on staying into the night and I'm so glad we did. We headed to the car and changed into warmer (dry) clothes. They have lockers near the enterance, but the parking is so convienent (we always upgrade $5 to prefered parking and park really close) we don't even need the lockers. Parking close is a lifesaver when little legs get tired after a long day!

I have such fond memories of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. My grandparents took me in July 1982, for my ninth birthday. I was mesmerized from the minute we got there until I fell asleep in the car on the way home. I remember looking through the program for weeks after and I had my first ever "flashlight spinning wand thingy" to remind me of that magical night called the Circus!

I can't explain my excitement when I heard:

Food and Wine Festival Ala Disney

The Fourth Annual Food & Wine Festival at Disney's Callifornia Adventure
is in full swing and continues through June 7th.

This years' 45-day "World Celebration" spotlights the flavors, people, cultures and traditions from around the world.

This unique event is not something I'd expect at any Disney Resort and pleasantly caught me off guard.

California Adventure had me at "hello" the minute I heard I could get a Margarita from Mickey there. Add a Food & Wine Festival... "Mama Like!"

This is my first year visiting the park during the Festival to enjoy the all the activities (drink, drank, drunk) giggle~

This would make a perfect "Girl's Night Out", or "Date Night". If you have a pass it is an absolute "Disney Must Do". So go ahead get a sitter and head on over to California Adventure's Food & Wine Festival-

We have a few plans to celebrate Earth Day. First today, we will head over to our local Disney Store... have you heard???

Disney Store locations nationwide will host a plastic bottle recycling program called “Recycling is Magic.” To help educate children on the benefits of recycling, Disney Store is inviting everyone to bring in empty plastic bottles and toss them into a unique recycling bin. On April 22, while supplies last, guests can exchange three empty bottles for a free commemorative Earth Day reusable water bottle.

Recycling=free present from The Disney Store sounds like fun to me!

Ever since we saw her first concert, Miley Cyrus won me over! She performs like a rock star singing her heart out and gives each show her all. And after meeting her, I was convinced Billy Ray's real talent is in raising his daughter... not singing or haircuts!!! I personally am excited to take Nick and his friends to see this kid flick. I am anticipating an "afterschool special" type of message. Wouldn't that be nice?

You may remember as I've posted before.

*Side Note- Do you remember the Jonas Brothers Movie? Well, it played here and opening weekend they made a top secret live appearance before the movie to the "thrill" or should I say "shrill" of their fans. Not that I've heard Miley will be at the theatre.... I'm just saying.

This special theatre is a history lesson, Old Hollywood style. It's not just going to the movies it's an all day event. My son loves the "Hollywood Scene". I wonder where he gets it? All I have to do is say the word and he's ready to go in his coolest jeans. "How do I look Mom?", turned into "will you get me an agent?" Yes, he keeps asking. (I just might have to look into it)

Wii Are Getting Fit Together

We are on Spring Break this week. I have been planning activities to keep us busy and yesterday we had no plans. I started to panic. Would boredom set in? Nope, we have Wii!!! My son grabbed the bag we keep our Wii games in and spread them out the length of the couch. "Wow Mom, which one should we play first???" Then he began to do the ennie-meenie- minenie- moe thing. Five minutes and 16 verses later he had picked Wii Fit. We played, um I mean exercised for almost 2 hours laughing, jumping, hula hooping and even managed to break a sweat... Exercising disguised as fun with your children what can be better than that, I ask you?

Then it got really good, I actually have my own personal trainer. I feel like a "star" or at least "The Biggest Loser". The trainer is all part of Nintendo's Wii Fit. You have your choice between a nicely toned woman with flat abs, or a hunkie kind of a guy. I surprised myself by choosing the girl, but after 2 days of her I think I will be switching to him... let's call him "Ken" as in Barbie's stud. Did I mention there's Yoga? Yep, Yoga!

5 things I love about getting Fit with Wii:

1. I don't have to brush my hair (or teeth) before I workout, my personal trainer "Ken" doesn't even mind.

2. Doing Yoga in my living room with my son is a good thing.

3. Jogging around an island without leaving your house.

4. No monthly gym memberships. YaY!

5. The built in scale, BMI Calculator and graphs helps you set goals and automatically tracks your progress.

How it is:

After only 1 day of Yoga (30 min.) I woke up sore, not bad but I could feel it. And that means it working right?

Today was day 2 and it felt really good to "Salute the Sun". Who knew "tree" would require so much control? It sounded so innocent, ouchie.

This "working out" in my living room thing is really "working out" for me!

There's so much to share, I don't really know where to begin...

The Entertainment Capital of L.A.,Universal Studios gives you a rare glimpse into the world of movie making. Taking a Tram Studio Tour through one of the world's largest working movie and studio lot makes Universal Studios a one of a kind experience. *Trams go Hi Def in June, 2009 with new flat-screen HD monitors installed in each Tram car.

Finally, a place that caters to the tween/teen crowd and adults will enjoy it just as much or more! A perfect example of this is the walk through attractions House of Horrors. This Mom considers this a "wet your pants" kind of scary. The Revenge of the Mummy Ride is for the hard-core thrill seekers (and it goes backwards) Awesome! Being that I lost my hat on that ride, (bummer) I highly recommend you use the lockers provided for everything, even glasses!

Honorable Mention: Hubby's park favorite is Terminator 2: 3D.

There's also family fun with the Curious George water play area, perfect for a hot day, adults are encouraged to get wet too. You will also see newly escaped animals of Madagascar roaming about...

Jurassic Park-The Ride was the family favorite. We have introduced all 3 movies on DVD to our son recently so it was right up our alley. But I will say, this ride is so well done you will enjoy it even if you are not familiar with the movies.

The music will choke you up and watching the way the trainers love that beautiful animal will give you chills. No matter how many times I've seen Shamu, it's like the first time all over again.

Was Christmas Eve

Drinks and appeitizers were had by all while the stocking were hung by the chimney with care, NOT! The kids ran-a-muck, the men watched football, and the fancy dressed up gals were around the tree laughing about Christmas past. Good times and laughter with my older and younger sister is what I treasure most about Christmas Eve! Followed closely by sprinkling reindeer food (uncooked oatmeal and glitter) on the grass with my son, for Rudolph and his crew.

My hubby's family have been having live main lobster since anyone can remember. Every year the men instantly turn into 10 year old boys when the lobster come out.

Impressed??? Don't be, hubby is the true Rock Star in our kitchen. I want to say a special Thank You to the the whole gang, what a team effort! Thanks everyone for bringing your specialty to our table. I couldn't have done it without each one of you.
